Girl Scout Gold Project

I  completed my Girls Scout Gold Project in June 2018. The goal of the Gold Project is to create a positive permanent change in the community. I promoted bike safety and biking. I sent out a petition (with over 200 signatures) for bike safety signage to make drivers aware of bikers. I hosted 2 bike parades with over 75 people, local government officials, TV and paper news coverage, and sponsorships from local businesses. I also received a citation from the Town of North Hempstead for this parade. For this bike parade, I had to reach out to police officers to block the roads and school administration to get permission to use the property and for insurance. This parade is now an annual tradition.
