Harvesting Black Soldier Flies

I worked with a group of Olin students on a project partnered with a local composting company to see if black soldier fly larvae can process compost leachate to be used as fertilizer, all while the compost leachate is providing nutrients to grow the larvae. The larvae once at their largest stage can then be dried and sold as sustainable animal feed. Our team designed a processing system to cycle the leachate through and a habitat for the larvae to thrive in.
