Dog Handler
I worked for Alaska Icefield Expeditions as a dog handler in the summer of 2022. I had the opportunity to live and work on a glacier outside of Juneau with 245 dogs and commute to the glacier once a week via helicopter. I helped take care of dogs and assist mushers with tours. Through this experience, I was able to learn about the sport of dog mushing including how to mush myself.
This is a picture book I made about my time in Alaska. I drew many of these drawings on the glacier during long weather stretches. There was no service to do much else.
